Excellent episode ... and the cake looked mui delicioso! But AB's assembly wasn't very appealing. The layers of the cake were uneven, and as he was addign the frosting, I thought I was watching Richard Dreyfus in "Close Encounters". But then that's why the love the guy ... he's quirky and not above embracing the addities of cooking.

Thu, August 2, 2007 - 1:06 PMAs always, his humor is too much (in a good way). the Close Encounter's thing - you know he was a commerical director before he went to cullinary school, right? He loves putting pop culture - esepcially that associated with film media, into his shows and books. fun fun.
having said that, i hate coconut, so the show was pretty dull for me, from an eater's pperspective.
