Ha! That was a riot of an episode! Seriously, how very creative. I mean, they could have just done an episode on cooking substitutions, but to broaden the theme to include the substitution of Deb, Thing, and even Alton was kind of inspired. I'm dissappointed in myself however for not seeing the twist at the end with BA. Should've expected that one.
I also enjoyed seeing all the references to past episodes, and especially the inclusion of the sauce for the shrimp from the island epsiode. And having the cake from the last ep. still in the fridge? Haha!

Re: "Substitutions"
Thu, August 2, 2007 - 1:04 PMI don't know why, maybe it's the time i am able to watch, but we seem to be 3 weeks behind.
we just got Substitutions last night.
not as useful as i was hoping. in fact it rather let me down, with some rather normal stuff. I'd have loved to see a long list of "health" subs, like applesauce for butter/oil in many rough baked goods (brownies, carrot/banana type fruit cakes, etc).
I'd really like him to address one or two shows specifically to understanding fats, and where&how you can lower them in your cooking.
